The Whetstone Story
The Whetstone Grill is the brainchild of Hull Street Blues Café owner Dan Macatee, Executive Chef John Christensen, and Bar Manager Dave Testerman. The restaurant opened in early April 2009, and has been a welcome addition to the neighborhood of Locust Point. The concept of the restaurant is based around the philosophy of providing high quality food, doing it fast, and at a price that won't break the wallet. We also provide a wide range of craft beers and fine wines at reasonable prices.
The restaurant's moniker comes from the original name of Locust Point, Whetstone Point. The peninsula was named by John Carrol after Whetstone Park in London. The Locust Point neighborhood is also home to Fort McHenry, birthplace of the National Anthem.
